Gwyneth Paltrow praises ex Chris Martin for sprinkling 'fairy dust' as a father
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin famously "consciously uncoupled" and now they consciously co-parent – with the former praising her ex-husband for sprinkling his “fairy dust” on the family.
Gwynnie said the Coldplay frontman is the most magical father whenever he visits her and their two children, son Moses, 17, and 19-year-old daughter Apple.
“He has this sweet child-like spirit, and I love that he will be like, ‘Let’s go jump in the ocean,’ when it’s 58 degrees, or, ‘Let’s go to this weird guitar store.’ He always wants to do these fun adventures with them and activities,” she explained.

Gwyneth had two children with Chris Martin (Instagram)Speaking to People, she continued: "[He] has a real sweetness, and so he brings that to the way that he parents them… he’s, sort, of gone a lot, he’s on the road a lot, but brings – it’s almost like he comes and sprinkles fairy dust.”

The actress-turned-wellness guru tied the knot to singer Martin in 2003 and they announced their separation in 2014, before officially divorced in 2016. Paltrow, 51, has since remarried producer Brad Falchuk, while her former flame is currently dating Dakota Fanning.
Diving further into her split from Martin, Paltrow stressed that she and the musician were always on the same page when it came to raising their children together. “To say you want to put your kids first and actually to put them first are two different things. I think we all think we want to put our kids first, but when it’s sort of… you’re making a sacrifice, or you feel angry or hurt, sometimes it’s hard to do that,” she admitted, adding that she researched the impact that divorce can have on.
“Everybody who had come from a divorced house, they said, ‘It wasn't really the divorce, of course, it was hard to go back and forth to different houses, but that wasn't really the thing that messed me up, it was that my dad wouldn't come into the house to pick us up, or my mother would drop us at the end of the driveway or they couldn't even be together at graduation.’” She continued: “Those were the things that really hurt the kids, and so Chris and I just said, 'Let's just never do that and let's try to get through the hard part of this and remember our friendship… he’s like my family.”
Earlier this month (November), Oscar-winner Paltrow hosted a summit for her brand Goop – whose range of products include vaginal jade eggs and This Smell Like My Vagina candles – and took part in an Ask Me Anything Q&A. During the candid session, she reflected on a trip she enjoyed with Martin and the kids, and said she now sees him as a sibling. “I know it sounds really weird to say, but he’s kind of like my brother now. It’s hard for people to understand, but I did really make a commitment that he would stay my family, and I think we suffer a lot less because of that.”
