Soap star Sally Ann Mathews has shared a sweet moment with her rarely-seen son with fans on social media.

The Coronation Street actress, who plays Jenny Connor (Bradley) in the ITV soap, revealed how her son James has followed in his dad's footsteps and graduated from university with a law degree. Sally, who is married to senior barrister Nick Rhodes in real life, posted a picture of her and James at his graduation on Instagram.

She wrote: "A brace of lawyers at my house. Huge congratulations @jamesrho3 - we're incredibly proud of you x". Her co-stars were quick to congratulate her and James. Lucy Fallon, whose character Bethany Platt is set to return to the soap, said: "What a clever cloggs" [sic], and former Sophie Webster star Brooke Vincent said: "Oh how fabulous [heart emojis] congratulations." Earlier this year Jenny also gushed over her son Louis' achievements.

She stood proudly at his graduation as she wrote: "Very proud mum klaxon. Congratulations @louis.rhodes Xxx." Sally looked gorgeous in a green floral maxi dress and blue blazer as she wrapped her arm around her son. Sally Ann usually keeps her family life private, but recently shared a rare glimpse with a post of her on-screen husband alongside her 'real one' to mark the character's departure during dramatic death scenes.

Since Sally reprised her role as Jenny on the famous street in 2015, her character has had a complicated love life. The soap star recently confessed that Jenny's racy scenes leave her adult sons mortified. Speaking to The Mirror, the soap legend admitted: "They always seem to walk through the room just when Jenny is about to snog somebody or be suggestive. They'll just be passing through, and they hear my voice on screen and turn round and look and then say: 'Jesus, mother!' and turn round and walk out!"

She first dated Kevin Webster before she married Johnny Connor, but they split after she had a fling with Ronnie Bailey. Despite her fling, Johnny died in 2021, saving Jenny's life. Since then, she has had brief relationships with young Leo Thompkins and newcomer Owen Longford.

While she was with Leo and Owen, she even developed feelings for charming serial killer Stephen Reid. Opening up about their passionate kissing scenes, she said that while actor Todd Boyce, who played Stephen, made it "easy" for her, the snogging scenes can be "very" technical to film.

Sally explained: "And while you then see us going upstairs to spend the night together, you don't see anything else. It's left to the imagination. No one needs to see my stretch marks!"
