Former Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown has revealed that she still struggles with Imposter Syndrome when it comes to her incredible successes - despite winning the Channel 4 show back in 2016.

Former PE teacher Candice, 38, was estimated to net £1million in the year after winning. She then appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2018 and won Celebrity Mastermind in 2019. The talented baker has remained in the spotlight since finding fame on Bake Off, often enjoying appearance on shows such as Loose Women, and has released a series of books.

Despite remaining as an all-time Bake Off favourite among fans of the show, Candice has now opened up about her struggles with confidence when it comes to her incredible successes. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, the baker revealed that she still sometimes finds it hard to believe the path her life has taken after appearing on the show over seven years ago.

Opening up about the biggest thing she learned about herself after shooting to fame on the Bake Off, Candice admitted that she finds it difficult to deal with the negative opinions that are thrown her way now that she's firmly in the spotlight.

"Probably the biggest thing I learned was that being myself is okay. I do still battle with that and also Imposter Syndrome but I try and remind myself that I am kind, hardworking and I am enough. Peoples opinions can be cruel, especially when they voice them for you to see and that is tough - but it is a small part of an incredible journey I have been on, getting to do something I love so much.

"I think I will always worry but I know if I remain true to me then I can't do much more. Untrue stories are also an interesting one to cope with sometimes as people are very quick to believe what they see online," she added.

Lifting the lid on her future plans for 2024 and the year ahead, Candice revealed that she hopes to throw herself back into some more TV work and is hoping to complete her third book. The former Bake Off winner said: "My pub The Green Man Eversholt is a constant and is something I am completely involved in 24 hours a day 7 days a week mostly and we are very proud of it.

"We want to progress and move forward with it and have some great ideas coming up. I love to be part of food festivals and have a few to look forward to plus charity events are a huge part of my year using my platform for good. Spending time with my family, friends and dogs. I also want to continue learning, writing recipes and developing my skills. I would love the opportunity to do some more TV work, maybe a 3rd book and just keep being me."

It comes as Candice has collaborated with leading collagen brand Vital Proteins to create a delicious recipe for the perfect breakfast. The breakfast recipe includes Vital Protein’s new Strawberry and Lemon Beauty Collagen, and with additional Hyaluronic Acid, it’s sure to give you all the nutrients needed to start the day feeling revitalised.

The easy-to-make recipe, which is prepared in just five minutes, includes granola, fresh Greek yoghurt, cream cheese, fruit and a squeeze of honey, alongside two scoops of the Beauty Collagen, and is designed to be served in a jar that can easily be enjoyed on the go or at home, making it easy to add collagen into your everyday routine.
