Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder's son suffers mortifying blunder on First Dates
Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder's son was left red-faced after an awkward moment on E4's Teen First Dates.
The musician's son, Joe, was one of the new people appearing on the show in hopes of finding love after being matched with strangers by experts. During the date, he made the bold decision to name-drop his father but it didn't land how he wanted it to as his date never heard of the star.
In a clip shared on Instagram, the 19-year-old said: "I'm doing the name drop. Have you heard of a band called The Happy Mondays?" to which his date shook his head. "So my biological dad is Shaun Ryder, who is the lead singer of The Happy Mondays. I don't know if you know him from I'm A Celeb years ago... Came second?"
His date still looked completely clueless as Joe tried to provide more details about his famous father.

Joe went on to recount an embarrassing moment that happened between him and an ex-boyfriend while the two were 'passionately kissing'.

Explaining why he likes it when people don't know his father, Joe continued: "That makes me so happy because I was seeing a guy and we were passionately kissing. He pulls away from the kiss and he goes, 'Wow, you do look like your dad!'" and I was like, 'So what we're not gonna do, is that!'"

"Who on earth hasn’t heard of the Happy Mondays," they asked while another posted: "Bet he brings his dad up to every person he meets."
One user saw the similarities between father and son and wrote: "He does look like his dad," while one commented: "His claim to fame."
It comes after it was revealed Shaun was left "unable to speak" after going through what he described as male menopause. He said that Hormone Replacement Therapy has changed his life after he said he was "trying every drug around". The singer uses testosterone gel now to boost his libido and energy levels.
He has said he was "miserable" and if he misses any of his medication he goes "absolutely mental". Shaun said he found himself not being able to leave the house due to being so tired all of the time. He went for a routine blood test which showed his "testosterone levels were at zero".
He told The Sun : "I was tired all the time, could barely be bothered leaving the house. My libido was gone and I was miserable. A routine blood test showed my testosterone levels were at zero."
