Savage Kay Burley was slammed after fat-shaming David Cameron as he made a stunning political return.

The former Prime Minister has been appointed as Foreign Secretary as the ex Tory leader's comeback stunned the country amid a huge government reshuffle announced this morning. Mr Cameron was seen walking into No10 as Rishi Sunak began his restructure.

Sky News' coverage focused on the returning politician as he walked along Downing Street and back into his former home. The broadcaster's deputy political editor Sam Coates listed his jobs since leaving office seven years ago. He begun: "Since leaving the job of Prime Minister, he did jobs that were controversial, wrote a memoir…"

His colleague quickly interjected, and she chipping in: "....put on weight!" before taken-aback Coates repeated her comment before continuing with his report. Kay's remarks didn't go down well on twitter on another tempestuous and controversial day in British politics.

One user wrote: "I can’t get over Kay Burley calling David Cameron fat on live television for no reason whatsoever." while another said: "‘I think someone at @SkyNews should have a quiet word in Kay Burley’s ear. Her snipes at Cameron are getting a bit tedious."

It comes after her breakfast show on the channel was hit with over 1500 Ofcom complaints. Viewers said that Kay had misrepresented comments made by the Palestinian ambassador during a discussion on her show on October 10th. The programme received a total of 1537 complaints to Ofcom.

Those watching the programme said that Kay had repeatedly misquoted the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot, on three occasions. Kay allegedly claimed that Mr Zomlot had said 'the Israelis had it coming' but in his statement, he had said "the loss of civilian lives is tragic on all sides" and that "Israel knew this was coming their way."

Viewers had taken to the internet, where they said that "Burley’s representation and Zomlot’s actual remarks is striking and deserves attention". They continued: "It is imperative to set the record straight and address this misrepresentation, as it holds significant implications for the ongoing situation in Palestine. As such, we urge the community to take action and register complaints with Ofcom concerning Ms. Burley’s inaccurate portrayal and vilification of Mr. Zomlot."
