New footage has emerged from Kieran Trippier's furious row with a Newcastle fan following their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Dominic Solanke scored a second-half double for the Cherries as they condemned a stretched Newcastle side to their first Premier League defeat since the start of September. And after the final whistle, tensions began to boil in the away end at the Vitality Stadium.

The Newcastle players went over to thank the travelling faithful for their support, but it seemed Trippier was not best pleased with one supporter. Joelinton was forced to intervene as he pulled the England international away from the fan, as emotions started to calm down.

Touchline footage has since emerged showing Trippier approaching the supporter and shouting: "So, the lads aren't giving everything? How many injuries have we got? How many injuries have we got?" The right-back called for a response before being dragged away.

Trippier walked back over to the tunnel and explained what happened from his point of view in an interview with Sky Sports. He said: "The fans are emotional, of course they are. They have travelled a long way, they spend a lot of money to come and watch us.

"I was just having a chat with one of them, I said we are giving everything. There is no need to panic, we are still in a good position in the league, we are still in the Champions League, Carabao Cup quarter-finals, there is no need to panic. We got beat, we do apologise for that result, but the most important thing is that the lads are giving everything. We are giving more under the circumstances."

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe also gave his verdict. He said: "I did see that. I think it's high emotions at the end of the game, we really appreciate our away support, everyone is valued and we're just disappointed with the result."

Newcastle's defeat against Bournemouth leaves them seventh in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-place Liverpool. However, the Magpies have been dealing with a jam-packed fixture schedule and a heavy injury list at the moment, with Miguel Almiron adding to that.

Almiron limped off during the first-half on the south coast, with Sven Botman, Alexander Isak, Matt Targett, Callum Wilson, Harvey Barnes, Elliot Anderson, Dan Burn and Jacob Murphy also out through injury. Meanwhile, Bruno Guimaraes missed the game against Bournemouth due to suspension.
