Lily Allen's husband David Harbour said their marriage has been "going so great" after rumours started swirling about their relationship.

The Smile singer, 38, and Stranger Things actor David, 48, got married in 2020 and recently talked about her love for him on Instagram while marking their third wedding anniversary. However, the star sparked rumours of a marriage crisis when she ‘unfollowed’ David on the social media app, leading to claims the couple were 'living separate lives'.

In October, reports suggested the singer and David had 'barely been together' over the past several months. Lily's extremely busy schedule saw her spend the summer starring in London's West End production of The Pillowman while David remained at home in New York.

And now, David has shut down any rumours of a marriage crisis and said it has been going 'so great'. He admitted their relationship was affected by the actors' strike, which ended on Thursday. He explained: "Ultimately, it's very good because you get to know someone."

"But, let me tell you, my wife likes when I go to work because it's nice for her to have her life and me to have my life and for us not to just annoy each other by being around all the time," he added to People. "We have these two kids, and it's so great," referring to Lily's children Ethel, 11 and Marnie, 10.

The actor added that they have been growing "closer and closer" as a family. Lily and David were last pictured at a showbiz party in New York in September when she returned to the US. Over Halloween, Lily ignored the rumours by sharing posts of her spooky party but David was nowhere in sight.

However, Lily and David later seemingly brushed off any split speculation as they were spotted cosying up together. The couple enjoyed time together at a basketball game in New York on Thursday. Lily kept it casual as she wore a beige jumper, black trousers and white trainers. She added a touch of glamour with her navy Hermes Birkin bag. She sat next to her husband David, who wore an all-black outfit as he cheered on the Knicks.

Fans started worrying about Lily and David's relationship when they noticed she unfollowed him on Instagram. However, he continued to follow her. One fan commented on X: “APPARENTLY DAVID HARBOUR AND LILY ALLEN UNFOLLOWED EACH OTHER” and another asked: “Lily Allen and David Harbor wouldn't do that to me THEY WOULDN’T.”

A source told The Sun: “Lily and David have barely been together for the past three months and have been living separate lives. When she was in London for the Pillowman, David was spotted at one performance in July before Lily was left by herself. In her downtime, Lily would be with mates in London or her kids. When she went back to the US with them, there was no sign of David."
