New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was allegedly arrested on Friday night after being accused of throwing bricks onto a parked car.

Thomas is accused of slapping and breaking a man's phone who attempted to record him before throwing two bricks at his car outside of his home in Kennar, Louisiana.

The NFL star was reportedly seen being put into the back of a police vehicle, before being released after his alleged arrest. Thomas is still expected to play for the Saints on Sunday when the team faces the Minnesota Vikings.

Multiple sources have suggested that Thomas threw two bricks at a parked truck before pushing the man over when taking his phone away from him.

A spokesperson from the team told Saints News Network: "We aware of the incident and are gathering information."

The incident is believed to have occurred at around 5:30pm local team in Louisiana, with the man said to be a contractor who was working at a home near Thomas's and local media reported the story.

The man involved, Luis Cifuentes, stated that Thomas had been threatening him for the last two weeks.

He told WDSU: "He drives up, and I see him get out, and I was like: 'I don’t know what he’s doing, I’m just worried about my job site'.

"He walks up to this big pile of sand and grabs a brick, and he throws it at my car, and the guys are like: 'Hey, man your truck, your truck!'

"I thought 'Oh, dude, he’s actually doing something' so, I grab my phone and I started recording him. He saw that I was recording and he grabbed my phone and grabbed and pushed me."

The latest incident comes just weeks after fellow Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested, also in Kennar, Louisiana, for allegedly speeding at 70mph in a 35mph zone.

Olave could be suspended by the NFL after the incident, and the Saints will be left considering their options at wide receiver if Thomas faces any kind of action.

The two leading receivers for the Saints could play a big role in the team's goals this season. With a 5-4 record at the halfway point of the season and one of the more favourable schedules across the remainder of the year they are well placed to make the postseason.

In a struggling NFC South, the Saints look like strong favourites to make it to the playoffs and win the division, under new quarterback Derek Carr.
