Baldur’s Gate 3 update fixes Astarion’s silver tongue and Shadowheart's loyalty
Larian Studios has rolled out another short and sweet Baldur’s Gate 3 patch in the form of Hotfix #10, which makes some crucial tweaks to how companions should act.
More so than in any other RPG, you’re nothing without your companions in Baldur’s Gate 3. Characters like Karlach, Shadowheart and others are all crucial to this story-driven experience; hence why developer Larian Studios remains committed to fixing any bugs related to them not acting quite as they should. That’s primarily the goal of today’s Baldur’s Gate 3 update – available now on PS5 and PC – which serves as the game’s tenth hotfix and is aimed at tightening up how two particular party members function.
Today’s Baldur’s Gate 3 update – Hotfix #10 – is fully detailed in a news post over on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website. Its major change corrects a problem with the fan-favourite vampire of the group, fixing “an issue where Astarion’s voice wasn’t quite following what he was supposed to say during dialogues”. Then there’s the issue of another companion, Shadowheart, wandering off randomly during certain instances – this has also been corrected by Hotfix #10.
Outside of these slight issues with how two of Baldur’s Gate 3’s most popular companions have been misbehaving in some scenarios, the Baldur’s Gate 3 update also rolls out other minimal changes aimed at smoothing out the wider experience. Players would previously be lit on fire during a specific scene which wasn't intended, so no more flame-on moments there. And for the character creator tweaks, eye makeup and tattoo intensity sliders will now work as they're supposed to when using a controller.
If you’re curious about everything the latest Baldur’s Gate 3 update improves in both the PC and PS5 version of the game, here’s the full list of patch notes for Hotfix #10 below.
