Amazon has released more details about how it will run its upcoming Black Friday sale. The retail giant is set to offer savvy shoppers some amazing discounts on the run up to Christmas with deals on the best brands from homeware and beauty to tech and toys.

Black Friday marks one of the year’s biggest shopping events and sees all the big-name retailers taking part, including Apple, Currys and Sky all offering some amazing deals. Black Friday takes place at the same time every year – on the first Friday after the US celebrates Thanksgiving.

This year, Black Friday is on November 24 and will run across the whole weekend until November 27, which is known as Cyber Monday and focuses on online sales rather than in-store. But despite Black Friday taking part over a single weekend, many retailers launch their deals for longer periods.

Amazon has already confirmed its Black Friday sale will run for 10 days, from November 17 to Cyber Monday on November 27. Amazon is yet to unveil exactly what deals it will offer, but last year it cut prices on hugely popular brands like Ninja, Shark, Braun, Samsung, Calvin Klein, Sony and Microsoft – as well as its own brand products like the Kindle.

Now Amazon has teased eager shoppers with clues on exactly how often it will drop new Black Friday deals during the sale. In an update on its US website, Amazon has advised customers to check its website “frequently” for new deals.

That’s because new deals will drop as often as every five minutes during “select periods”. This applies to both the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events.

Therefore, bargain hunters should keep checking Amazon’s website often to ensure they find the best and most up-to-date deals. Checking Amazon regularly during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events means customers are less likely to miss out on hot items before they get snapped up.

Shoppers can sign up to Amazon Prime to ensure their Black Friday purchases get delivered in no time thanks to Prime’s next-day delivery. They can even get a Prime membership for free thanks to Amazon’s 30-day free trial – which also comes with access to Prime Video and Amazon Music Prime.

Amazon has already unveiled a host of early Black Friday deals for those who can’t wait to bag a bargain. Shoppers can pick up two of Amazon’s new Echo Pop – the WiFi and Bluetooth smart speaker with Alexa – for £34.98.

The compact speaker can be used to play music, audiobooks and podcasts from platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music and Spotify. It can also be used to control compatible smart home devices like lights and thermostats, as well as set timers, check the weather and read the news.

Customers can also pick up a pair of Amazon’s new Echo Show 5 – the smart 5.5” display with Alexa – for £89.98. Customers can get two for one of these handy little devices that can be used to stream music and podcasts, as well as your favourite Prime Video shows with its 5.5” screen.

It can also control home devices, as well as help keep an eye on the pets and little ones with its built-in camera, answer the door with compatible video doorbells and display a slideshow of treasured photos while not in use.

Amazon’s second generation Echo Show 8 – with a HD smart display with Alexa and 13MP camera – is 50 percent at £59.99 – its “lowest price ever”. The 8” touchscreen boasts adaptive colour and stereo speakers that bring entertainment to life, as well as make video calls with an adaptive camera that frames and centres automatically.

Amazon is also offering 60 percent off an Audible subscription for three months. Members of the audiobook service can get access to thousands of books and podcasts for £2.99 a month, with all the best-sellers and new releases read by celebrities – including the memoirs of Britney Spears and the late Matthew Perry.
