Corrie's Alan Halsall's explosive love life and bitter feud with famous ex
Soap star Alan Halsall was a firm fan-favourite set to join I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! - the ITV reality show known for its scary trials, basic rations and feuding celebrity contestants. However it has now been announced that the jungle hopeful has pulled out after having a major knee operation – and will also take a break from Coronation Street as he recovers.
One ITV source told the Mirror: “It’s a big blow, but there’s no way he can go to Australia – his surgeon would have a fit. Alan needs to recover fully and then maybe he can take part next year. It’s a massive shame because everyone was really looking forward to having him on the show, but these things happen."
When it comes to his time on the long-standing ITV soap, Alan's Corrie character Tyrone has been through countless heartbreaks during his 25 years on the show and offscreen, the actor's love life hasn't always been rosy. The star first met actress Lucy-Jo Hudson, 40, when she joined the street in 2002 playing "Killer Katy" Harris and they married in 2009, welcoming daughter Sienna-Rae in 2013. But by 2018 their marriage had ended in divorce, with Alan, 41, reportedly joking to pals about having a "mid-life crisis".
The pair moved on, with Lucy-Jo making things official with actor Lewis Devine after they had formed a friendship while performing in panto. The actor began dating actress Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton in Coronation Street, in 2019.
At first, co-parenting Sienna-Rae seemed seamless with Lucy-Jo, who went on to appear in Hollyoaks after Coronation Street, saying: "We're so amicable. We will remain friends and I genuinely mean that. We still care for each other." But then Lewis shared an Instagram snap celebrating the birth of their son Carter in 2020.

Lucy-Jo Hudson’s new man Lewis Devine prompted Alan to hit out on social media (INSTAGRAM)The thrilled new dad wrote: "Our Sienna is delighted and is already making the best big sister, just like I knew she would!" and in response, Alan hit back: "You're welcome to keep the lying cheating one & call her your own! But not my daughter." The star quickly deleted his rant but the message didn't go unnoticed.
"I had literally just given birth to Carter when he posted that so I didn't see it and my head was elsewhere. He quickly deleted it so he must have regretted it", Lucy-Jo later remarked while Alan said: "There's always going to be ups and downs with a blended family. So long as Sienna comes first in all of it, that's all that matters."

Alan took Sienna-Rae, now ten, for two weeks to Florida earlier this year prompting a sad post from Lucy-Jo. "It’s been almost 6 years of me having to share my Sienna, and you’d think I’d be used to it by now but I’m not! I cope a lot better than I did, as I know it’s just a part of being in a separated family, you have to get used it, don’t you? But it really doesn’t get any easier does it?"
