Former X Factor judge L.A. Reid is accused of sexual assault by ex-employee
Former X Factor judge LA Reid has been accused of sexual assault by an ex-employee.
In a lawsuit filed on Wednesday at the Federal District Court in Manhattan, Drew Dixon claimed she was assaulted twice in 2001 while working at Arista Records and alleges that Reid promised her a successful career in the music industry, but this changed after she rejected his sexual advances, according to The Guardian.
She claims the first incident took place shortly after she started at Arista Records, when Reid was the chief executive at the company. The first allegation of sexual assault reportedly occurred on a private plane that executives took to Puerto Rico in January.

She went on to allege that the former CEO cut her budget and side-lined her artists, as she allegedly stopped his advances, which she claims led to her “meteoric trajectory” in the music business being cut short, ultimately by Reid’s alleged harassment.
The ex-CEO is being sued for an unspecified compensatory amount and punitive damages under New York state’s Adult Survivors Act, passed last year, which allows alleged victims of sexual abuse a one-year window to sue even if the original statute of limitations has passed. The deadline is November 24.

The lawsuit said: "This litigation is not only about the horrific physical assaults that Ms. Dixon had to endure but it is also about the irreparable damage done to the rare and blossoming career of an extraordinary talent."
He was a judge on the X Factor (Syco Tv/Fremantle Media North America/Kobal/REX/Shutterstock)Reid left his role as CEO of Epic Records in 2017. Ms Dixon previously accused him of misconduct in December 2017, seven months after he left Epic Records.
Reid told the New York Times at the time in response to the accusations: “I’m proud of my track record promoting, supporting and uplifting women at every company I’ve ever run. That notwithstanding, if I have ever said anything capable of being misinterpreted, I apologize unreservedly.”
Reid is well known for his time on X Factor US during the first two seasons of the show. He has also worked with musicians like Usher, Pink, and Mariah Carey. The Mirror wasn’t immediately able to find a publicist, agent, or other contact number for Reid.
