EastEnders' Karen Taylor's downfall 'rumbled' ahead of exit in Keanu 'betrayal'

EastEnders seems to have hinted at Karen Taylor's exit from the BBC soap, ahead of her final scenes airing.

Karen was shown falling out with her son Keanu Taylor on Wednesday night, as cracks began to show in their sick plan involving his son Albie. In recent episodes Karen has schemed against on/off daughter-in-law Sharon Watts, and it could be about to land her in trouble.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Karen actress Lorraine Stanley had been written out of the show with her character dropped. It's not known when she will leave but fans are convinced her exit will be tied into the kidnap plot with Sharon and Albie, and that she might get caught out.

Scenes on Wednesday night heavily hinted at what was ahead, and it could mean devastating scenes following a falling out with her son. But could Keanu be about to betray his own mother and choose Sharon over her, despite Karen helping him carry out his sick plot?

Keanu and Karen teamed up to steal everything Sharon had, including Albie, after Sharon refused to put Keanu on the birth certificate. She also planned to move away from Walford with her son, leaving Keanu behind and with little access to his son.

EastEnders' Karen Taylor's downfall 'rumbled' ahead of exit in Keanu 'betrayal'EastEnders may have revealed what leads to Karen Taylor, played by actress Lorraine Stanley, leaving the BBC soap (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

Karen was furious and encouraged him to take revenge, leading to the fake kidnapping of his son Albie. Karen took him to a family member's house and Keanu wrote a ransom note, leading to Phil Mitchell lending Sharon £50,000 to pay the supposed abductors.

Karen is now hiding this money at her flat, with Keanu warning her not to spending it and saying he needs to find a way to pay it back to Phil. Karen warned him of the dangers of Sharon and Phil finding out the truth, but if anything Keanu was more worried about keeping a distance with his mum after recent events.

Telling her he loved Sharon and they were making a go of things, Keanu was keen to brush things under the carpet despite the police being concerned and there being hints the truth will come out. The detective revealed analysis was being done on Albie's clothes and the ransom notes for any DNA - so will something flag up as being linked to Karen or the family members who Albie stayed with?

If so, Karen could be put in the frame - and given how cold Keanu was towards her on Wednesday we don't doubt he'd be willing to throw her under the bus to save his relationship. So will Karen be forced to flee Walford, or might she do a runner with the money?
