Lance Bass gives Justin Timberlake update after 'little sister' Britney's claims

Lance Bass has shared an update on his bandmate Justin Timberlake following much attention over claims made about him in Britney Spears' newly-released memoir.

Britney, 41, released her memoir The Woman in Me just two weeks ago. She mentioned various fellow celebrities in it, including her ex-partner Justin, now 42 - whom she had been in a relationship with from around 1999 until 2002.

She made allegations about Justin in the book, including that he cheated on her. Britney also wrote that she had an abortion during their relationship. She claims that Justin felt they were "too young" to be parents and she suggested that she wouldn't have gone through with it had been "left up to [her] alone".

The memoir's release comes following Justin's reunion with his bandmates from *NSYNC. His bandmate Lance, 44, is said to have been asked for an update on Justin, in the wake of Britney's claims, in an interview with People magazine.

The outlet reports that in response, Lance - who has been a member of the band since its formation in 1995 - said that he talks to his bandmates "all the time". The singer further commented: "Yes, we're all good. People will survive."

Lance is understood to have known both Justin and Britney for many years, with them having all rose to fame around the same time. *NSYNC's first album was released back in 1997, whilst Britney's debut album came out two years later.

Britney announced just a few months ago that she had met up with Lance. She shared photos of them alongside his two children Violet and Alexander, now both two. Britney teased in the caption at the time: "I'm a new auntie for Lance's babies! They are absolutely gorgeous babies!"

Lance previously spoke about Britney whilst appearing on an episode of Ancestry's 2 Lies & a Leaf last year. He described her as like a "little sister" during the episode and he was even told that him and Britney are distant cousins.

*NSYNC - which also includes JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick - appeared together for the first time in more than a decade at the MTV Video Music Awards in September. The reunion saw them present at award.

It was later announced that the band had recorded a new song, Better Place, which features on the soundtrack of the film Trolls Band Together (2023). The release of the track marked *NSYNC's first new single in more than two decades.

Discussing them having reunited for the song, Lance told People that it was "nice to be in the studio like old times," adding that they were like "goofy teenagers again". He teased that the group were "cracking the stupidest jokes".
