From a beach lifeguard to headlining a huge home show in his native Newcastle, DJ Schak is ready to make even bigger waves in the music industry.

The 30-year-old has come a long way in a short space of time as his career continues to hit new heights and it appears the only was is up for the North Shields star whose positive vibes and energy match his catchy tunes

In his first year, the DJ has stunned crowds across the globe in some of the most iconic surroundings - as well as Newcastle United's St James' Park. But it's his return to the NX Newcastle that has him really buzzing. With the backing of close pal and fellow DJ Patrick Topping's Trick Label, Schak has promised fans they "will not forget this night" as he takes to the stage on December 16.

He also proudly insisted this time he's in control of "the lot". From pyrotechnics to support acts, Schak's involvement is clear. "I've played so many shows where I've not been the headliner and I've been the supporting act," he said.

"And obviously the headline gets all the best pyro and pyrotechnics make a massive difference to the whole atmosphere. I know my sets are good but this is going to be even better. I've gone absolutely huge with the stage production so I'm really excited for that. I finally get to do all of it and I'm buzzing."

As he continues to live his dream, Schak opened up on a recent interaction with superstar Calvin Harris that meant the world to him. Calling Calvin the "GOAT in the industry," he explained how he posted to Instagram for the year anniversary of hit debut tune Movin All Around. "Calvin commented on it saying this tune is the reason Miracle exists," Schak said. "Miracle was number one for like eight weeks. That is the best compliment I've ever received."

But he insists his continued success was all made possible due to a chance meeting with his now close pal Patrick Topping, who he labelled as being like Willy Wonka. "Patrick changed my life," he confessed. "You know Willy Wonka when you win the golden ticket? He's literally Willy Wonka to me."

Schak continued: "Honestly, I'm so grateful to Patrick. He's done so much for me and gave me so much advice and been there for me. It's been amazing."

Before his upcoming headline show, Schak also has a new single set to come out in the coming weeks called Mama Used To Say and he explained how the story behind the "deep" tune will resonate with his listeners. "It's a really deep song about a boy who's reminiscing on the advice his mother used to give them who sadly passed away and I think this song resonates with every single person because everybody's got a mother.

"I was raised single handedly by my mam, so it's it's a really deep song for me. I'm dedicating this to my mam and all the mothers out there for the endless sacrifices they make every single day."

Tickets for Schak's Hometoon Christmas special are on sale now from NX Newcastle.
