Angelina Jolie's dad Jon Voight publicly slams her 'lies' about Israel-Hamas war

Angelina Jolie's famous father Jon Voight has slammed his daughter's posts condemning Israel as the Israel-Hamas war continues.

The Maleficent actress, 48, who was once a special envoy of the UN High Commission for Refugees, recently shared a post where she accused Israel of "deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid" in violation of the international law.

And now her father Jon Voight has slammed his daughter's posts, branding them "lies". Taking to his Instagram page in a new video, where he was sat in front of an American flag, the Academy Award-winning actor said: "I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God's honour, God's truths."

Jon's comments have racked up more than 81,000 likes online and come after his daughter condemned Israel for bombing Gaza. He went on to add: "This is about destroying the history of God's land, the Holy Land, the land of the Jews, This is justice for God's children of the holy land. The Israeli army must protect thy soil, thy people. This is war. It's not going to be what the left thinks, it can't be civil now.

"Israel was attacked by inhuman terror on innocent babies, mothers, fathers, grandparents. You fools call Israel the problem, you should look at yourself and ask who am I? What am I? And ask God if am I learning the truth, or am I being lied to and following everyone else? The ones who understand truth see the lie."

"These animals want to wipe out Jews, Christians. They see that the Palestinians have not been neglected of finance. They have been given huge infusions of money, that they didn't share with the people. They made weapons instead, for their rage. The people of Israel care for people. They love and cherish. Something these animals don't understand. Justice will prevail."

This comes after Angelina took to social media in a series of posts. In one of the posts she penned: "What happened in Israel is an act of terror. But that cannot justify the innocent lives lost in bombing a civilian population in Gaza that has nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, and not even the basic human right to cross a border to seek refuge."

She also said that Gaza was "fast becoming a mass grave" as a result of Israel's airstrikes and that "the world watches" as "millions of Palestinian civilians - children, women, and families - are being collectively punished".

Her comments come as the U.S. has urged Israel to take a humanitarian pause from its relentless bombardment of Gaza and rising civilian deaths. President Joe Biden suggested that progress was being made on the humanitarian pause. The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has now surpassed 9,700 with more than 4,000 of them children and minors, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, more than 140 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids.

More than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed, most of them in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that started the fighting, and 242 hostages were taken from Israel into Gaza by the militant group. Roughly 1,100 people have left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing since Wednesday under an apparent agreement among the United States, Egypt, Israel and Qatar, which mediates with Hamas.
