Nicole Scherzinger and her fiancé Thom Evans have joined the Gogglebox sofa for the Stand Up to Cancer edition of the Channel 4 programme.

The Pussycat Dolls star, 45, and her rugby player fiancé, 38, joined the massive cast of big stars watching the week's best television. In a new clip exclusively shared with The Mirror, Nicole talked about being a late bloomer growing up as she related to a character on TV.

"I was kind of like her. Everyone made fun of me at school. I was the last person to kiss a guy. I was a late bloomer, I was nervous. I didn't go on dates until later on," she opened up about her childhood to Thom, before turning to look at him and adding: "I'm not going to ask you."

The duo joined the likes of Jeff and Bobby Brazier, Harry Hill and Tim Vine, Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade, Jennifer Saunders and her daughter for the special edition of the Channel 4 programme. Others include the comedy writer and performer Beattie Edmondson, as well as actors Stephen Graham and Hannah Walters, and their children, Grace and Alfie.

Nicole first met Thom when he took part in Celebrity X Factor in 2019. The 38-year-old rugby player previously revealed how he didn't think he had a chance with the iconic songstress at first, but finally plucked up the courage to ask her out and the rest is history.

The former Scottish international rugby union player credited his grandmother for helping him, as her motto was always 'if you don't ask, you don't get.' Thom said there was an instant attraction between himself and Nicole, and their relationship quickly went from strength to strength.

Earlier this year, Thom got down on one knee during a trip to Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal to ask for her hand in marriage. Unsurprisingly, she said yes and took to social media to share a picture of the two on a beach with her hands clasped around her mouth in shock as he held out a ring.

Thanking her fans for their well wishes at the time, Nicole said: "Thank you so much for all your beautiful birthday wishes and kind messages from our engagement. What a week…still on [cloud] 9.

In 2021, Thom opened up about their relationship and joked he was “massively punching [above his weight]”. The rugby player said: “I’ve hit the jackpot. Nobody’s asking Nicole how she got with me because I’m massively punching. She’s so easy and fun to be around.”

Nicola said she plans to marry Thom in a luxurious wedding ceremony in Hawaii. The ceremony will be conducted in Hawaii by none other than Nicole's grandfather in a touching nod to the closeness of her family. They will then host a reception "somewhere in Europe," the star recently said.
