A Formula One-inspired movie being co-produced by Lewis Hamilton is already receiving great reviews. The hype surrounding the film titled Apex increased on Friday after drivers were shown segments of the movie.

The film is a big step for Hamilton as the seven-time world champion takes his first step towards Hollywood. So far, it appears to be going well with claims fellow drivers have given a promising verdict.

Photographer Kym Illman said on his YouTube channel: "The drivers were shown a few segments of the upcoming Brad Pitt movie, and I had a chat with someone who saw it and they gave it an 8 out of 10, which is great news because the movie had the opportunity to significantly ramp up interest in the sport."

The movie has attracted a lot of interest due to Hamilton’s success and the fact that Brad Pitt will have a main role. To help show the sport in the best possible way, F1 has allowed two extra cars in the paddock.

At Silverstone and Hungaroring, the extra cars were used to shoot footage for the film. Drivers such as Carlos Sainz were seen contributing to the film despite their busy schedules.

To be ready for the film, Pitt has had to go through rigorous training. The movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski, will be produced and distributed on Apple Studios and Apple+.

The film will focus on a renowned driver who comes out of retirement to help a young driver take on the most extreme motorsport. The release date of the movie has not been announced as filming was affected by the Hollywood workers’ strike, which lasted 148 days.

Although Hamilton’s film has encountered setbacks, Friday’s reviews have created excitement for the final product. For Pitt, it is an experience he has enjoyed being part of.

In an interview with Sky Sports in July, Pitt said, “ It’s great to be here. We’re just having such a laugh, time of my life.” This film also marks the first time in his career in which he is taking the role of a Formula One driver.

Hamilton is also in good hands, as Kosinski knows a thing or two about making hit films. In his career, he has directed various films, including Top Gun: Maverick, Tron: Legacy, and Oblivion.

While Hamilton is looking to make a name for himself on the big screen and showcase the sport, he is not the only one. On November 15, a four-part documentary titled Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, narrated by Keanu Reeves, will be released on Disney+. It will focus on the title won by the Brawn GP team and their unexpected rise in Formula 1.
