The match ended in a 2-0 defeat for Middlesbrough after goals from Michael Rose and Mehdi Leris saw their six-match winning streak come to an end.

That scintillating run came after a woeful start to the season where they lost five out of their opening seven games of the campaign. They now sit tenth in the Championship ahead of Saturday’s trip to Plymouth.

Following that clash, Boro take on table-topping Leicester ahead of the final international break of the calendar year. Stoke meanwhile sit 11th in the table.
