Strictly's Giovanni smiles for first time in weeks over cosy dinner with Rose
After a rough few weeks, Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice was heard laughing once more as he enjoyed a candlelit dinner with his former celebrity dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis.
Rose and Giovanni formed an incredibly close bond after starring in the 2021 series of the BBC dance show which saw them life the Glitterball trophy. Former EastEnders actress Rose made history as the first deaf contestant to compete in the show and was showered in praise by the judges and the audience. Her chemistry with Giovanni was undeniable and since their win, the two have maintained a close relationship.
Rose even supported him by liking a post in a show of solidarity when his dance partner Amanda Abbington announced her sudden departure from the dance competition this year. To keep his mind off the drama, Giovanni and Rose went for a very swanky candlelit dinner at the Royal Opera House.
Taking to Instagram, Gio shared a video of Rose taking a sip of prosecco after he told her to. He said to her: "I tell you what you should do. You should drink that," before Rose - who was rocking a cosy white jumper and gold-rimmed glasses - asked why. He added: "Because you got smelly breath."

The two were at the Royal Opera House to watch a show (Instagram)She questioned what he meant before he clarified it was from the onion soup she had just eaten. "That's peppermint. No onion soup anymore, it's now olive breath," she told him before he laughed and apologised for his mistake. The two were at London's Royal Opera House to enjoy a performance of The Cellist for World Ballet Day.

After watching the show, Giovanni returned to his social media to share a sweet video of Rose trying to copy the dance as she got "inspired".
As he returned to the ballroom last weekend, without dancing with his partner for the first time, viewers spotted Giovani looking sad and dejected in the background.
Speaking exclusively to to the Mirror, body language expert Judi James said: "Halloween is traditionally Giovanni’s biggest week on Strictly, but this time it was more like a personal and professional nightmare. Instead of thrilling fans with one of his sensual, spooky routines he was relegated to the back row on the balcony thanks to his partner Amanda pulling out of the competition and his body language suggested a desire to not be there at all."

He soon announced the details of his secret project (Giovanni Pernice Instagram)"Giovanni though did everything to stay out of shot, actually pulling other pro dancers to stand in front of him and when he was visible he looked distracted with an eye-dart rather than focusing on the competing couple," added Judi, as she described the usually charismatic professional as 'subdued' .
The professional looked worlds away from his usual self. Two years after being partnered with Rose, Giovanni couldn't hide his admiration for her – as he revealed he'd been inspired to learn British Sign Language, who won a BAFTA for her performance on the show. In September last year, the Italian took to Instagram, announcing: "I’m learning some BSL (British Sign Language), a journey I started last year after being partnered with Rose, who is now a close friend."
The stars reunited in 2022 to raise awareness for those suffering from mental health, releasing a beautiful black and white photo for the thought-provoking campaign, which showcased their unbreakable bond.Rosealso visited Giovanni in his native Sicily, where she was introduced to the star's sister Angela on Gio'sBBCOne travel show with Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.
Meanwhile, their reunion comes after Giovanni announced a huge project. He recently announced his debut cologne, called Vita - which is the Italian word for life. He had been teasing his new product for the past week, sharing moody photographs of himself posing with a model in black and white snaps.
Giovanni had been working on the unisex scent that all fans can enjoy.
