Brooke Shields rushed to hospital 'frothing at the mouth' in New York City
Brooke Shields has revealed she was rushed to hospital after suffering a seizure at a restaurant in New York City.
The 58-year-old actress said she was taken to an Intensive Care Unit after the seizure left her "frothing at the mouth". She said she went "totally blue" during the terrifying ordeal, which happened in September.
Brooke explained how she collapsed "headfirst into the wall" just days before debuting her one-woman show at the Café Carlyle in NYC. After collapsing, she started having a grand mal seizure outside the restaurant L'Artusi. Luckily, actor Bradley Cooper was on hand to help.

She explained that the seizure happened because she had drank too much water for her show, leaving her low in sodium.

"I was waiting for an Uber. I get down to the bottom of the steps, and I start evidently looking weird, and [the people I was with] were like, 'Are you okay?'" she explained in a new interview. She explained how she went into the restaurant where two women approached her.
Brooke said everything started "to go black" before the medical emergency. Speaking in Glamour's US Women of the Year issue the actress added that her hands dropped to her side before she suffered the seizure.
"It means frothing at the mouth, totally blue, trying to swallow my tongue. The next thing I remember, I'm being loaded into an ambulance. I have oxygen on. And Bradley f*****g Cooper is sitting next to me holding my hand," she added.

Brooke said she was frothing at the mouth (FilmMagic)Bradley was called to help Brooke after a waiter was unable to reach her husband Chris Henchy. They were aware that Bradley was nearby and he headed straight to Brooke's side.
Brooke and Bradley have been close friends for more than a decade. Their friendship blossomed after they starred alongside each other in the horror film The Midnight Meat Train in 2008.
Brooke described the experience as though she "walked in with Jesus". She said the ambulance ride was "surreal and odd", during which Bradley told her he was going to accompany her to the hospital.
Once at the ICU, doctors gave Brooke an IV drip and a catheter. At the hospital, her health woes didn't stop and she developed bronchitis. Doctors told Brooke she had too much salt in her system and asked if she had taken salt out of her diet, something she denied.
Luckily, Brooke recovered from the health scare and went on to debut her one-woman show on September 12. She is now back to full health.
