Ugg boots have risen in popularity yet again as the resurgence of 2000s fashion continues. From Tazz to Tazman, Ultra Mini to Mini, everyone seems to be duly obsessed with the suede shoe - which will set you back upwards of £100.

But, anyone who owned a pair of cool, trendy shoes in the mid-2000s will remember that if you want to wear them in the rain, they're likely going to get ruined - especially if they're the Chesnut shade.

Rather than going into the elements without any protection on your boots, many people on social media have warned you that you're wearing them wrong - and there's a way to protect them in the rain.

TikToker Avery Lou took to her social media page to give a "friendly reminder" to other Ugg boot wearers that it's "officially the season to weatherproof your Uggs." She also said that they were "completely waterproof" after the method she used.

She grabbed an 'all protector' spray from Kiwi, which can protect shoes from rain and stains. She sprayed it generously all over her mustard seed shade Uggs, and while the colour of them did change slightly when she sprayed, making them darker, others in the comments addressed that, saying that it was only temporary and they'd "go back to their normal colour."

After she'd sprayed them and allowed the shoes to dry, to prove that they were totally waterproof, she held them under a tap, and the water didn't absorb into the shoe at all.

In the comments, someone joked: "Step one: find Uggs that are actually in stock", while someone fumed: "They should come like that for how much they flipping cost." "Seeing this, just as I've ruined mine", a TikToker raged. Someone warned people not to waterproof the Uggs when they've already become wet, however, warning people should wait for them to dry properly before using the spray. They said: "It will lock in the water and look weird."
