GMB's Richard Madeley tells guest to 'get on with it' in Covid inquiry clash

Richard Madeley was involved in a heated clash with Terry Christian today after telling him to 'get on with it'.

On Good Morning Britain today, journalist Terry Christian and fellow GMB guest Dominique Samuels discussed the harrowing details that came out of the Covid inquiry yesterday. In the explosive WhatsApp messages, Boris Johnson's former top aide Dominic Cummings dismissed cabinet members as "f***pigs" and called Matt Hancock a "liar" and a "c***". He also vented that he was "exhausted" trying to stop the ex-PM saying "stupid s***". In a furious message in August 2020, Mr Cummings told him: "At the moment the bubble thinks you've taken your eye off the ball, you're happy to have useless f***pigs in charge."

It was also claimed Mr Johnson agreed when Tories said Covid was "nature's way" of dealing with old people. Mr Cummings also demanded Mr Hancock was sacked: "Still no f****** serious testing in care homes his uselessness is still killing god knows how many."

Dominique and Terry clashed today (ITV)

In a chat on Good Morning Britain today, a heated discussion developed as Dominique and Terry clashed. Dominique said: "We're actually saying we should have gone harder and faster, which is obviously something I completely disagree with. So I think it's a waste of money. I think we should be focusing on rebuilding the economy as because of the actions of this government, our country's crumbling. Instead of umm-ing and ahh-ing of what we should do and shouldn't do in hindsight."

Richard then asked Terry what he learned from yesterday, to which he replied: "At least the evidence is now out there. It will quash your conspiracy theorists, shut them up for good. What it teaches you as well as a country is that you cannot vote for incompetent liars. It's a really important thing – so many people died, so many people suffered. Everybody was touched by it. This could come around again, a deadlier virus. We need to make sure that we have competent people involved to deal with it next time. This is the biggest crisis that this country has had since World War II."

As he continued to make his point, Richard stepped in to ask "were you surprised" but Terry quickly said "no let me finish" before carrying on to say: "We need Mr Churchill and what we got in fact was Mr Blobby. What's interesting now is it's not people like me or at the opposite spectrum of politics attacking Boris Johnson, it's his own people."

During the debate, Dominique tried to interrupt Terry's comments but he told her "let me finish", to which Richard told him to "get on with it" and "wrap it up" so that Dominique had a chance to give her thoughts.
