Travelodge is selling rooms for £9.50 per person that are perfect for exploring the UK's Christmas market scene.

Across the country festive floggers are putting the finishing touches to their seasonal stalls as they prepare to open for the year. If you're tired of the same old mulled wine at your local merry market or fancy perusing a new knick-knack vendor's wares, then booking into a Travelodge room is not a bad way to go about it.

For example, why not welcome in Yuletide by visiting one of the country’s largest Christmas markets in the heart of Bath, where more than 170 beautifully decorated wooden chalets are squeezed into the cobbled streets around the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey?

Or why not soak in the Christmas spirit in Nottingham, where 70 Bavarian stalls are located in an enchanted setting and entry into the Winter Wonderland is free? Chester’s Christmas market is more nostalgic, and you will find 70 traditional wooden chalets wrapped around the iconic, sparkling Christmas tree.

The world renowned Edinburgh Christmas Market located in Edinburgh’s historic city centre and picturesque Princes Street Gardens, is one of the best destinations for festive family fun this winter. You'll find everything from handmade decorations to warm cashmere scarves.

Visitors can enjoy an ice skating rink, walk through the stalls with their different festive fairs, and sip hot mulled wine with cinnamon. Santa Land returns to East Princes Street Gardens with rides for people of all ages to enjoy whilst Santa’s Grotto once again takes residence on Castle Street.

Another good spot for bargains and festive cheer is Winchester Cathedral’s Christmas Market, which is regularly voted one of the best markets in Europe. It is renowned for its bustling atmosphere and stunning location in the shadow of Winchester Cathedral.

With its 60 ft Christmas tree, giant Ferris wheel, and charming wooden chalets, Nottingham’s signature Christmas market, Winter Wonderland, is another cracker. The festive experience offers a charming German-style market with half-timbered chalets, plus a variety of cool extras like the big ice skating rink and igloo village.
