Apple is back with another whirlwind 2023 tech upgrade and its mighty MacBook Pro touch-up is bound to catch the attention of speedy laptop shoppers, but that's not without competition. As rival retailers including Currys and Amazon cut the price of the predecessor model.

The newest MacBook Pro may not look any different but that's because all eyes point towards its invisible software and newest M3 chipset - said to bring unmatched power, low latency, and much speedier download speeds, everything you could want in a laptop.

If that's not enough to sway you then Apple's dramatic pricing change could be, as the brand starts the range at £400 less than ever before. At £1,699 you can place your order now before they hit UK shelves next week on November 7.

While heads turn towards the newest 14 and 16-inch Macbook Pro intrigued shoppers may not want to totally disregard the older models as their prices plummet to make way for the newer versions. Looking away from the Pro and Macbook Air prices may sway you. Very has cut the latest model from £1399 to £1254, still a big price to pay nonetheless but it'll see shoppers save £145. Amazon followed suit with a £120 sale on the same 15-inch 2023 model, as it's cut to £1,279.

Those not fussed about the latest and greatest will walk away paying the cheapest price on the 2020 MacBook Air, with £100 off Currys has cut the price down to £849. While it's no secret the cheaper price gets you a slightly slower M1 chipset it could be one to consider if you're on a stricter budget.

The Prime retailer has dropped the price of the 14.2-inch M2 Pro chip model by £280. Currys pays attention to the quickest model in the predecessor range, the 1TB M2 Max with £150 off, although we'd urge shoppers to consider waiting for the newer M3 Max as the older device will still set you back £3,199.

"Say hello to the M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max, the latest breakthrough in Apple silicon" were the words from Apple CEO Tom Cook, as he posted during the launch. Taking to social media he said: "The new MacBook Pro lineup and iMac with the most advanced chips ever built for a personal computer."

The new devices are currently available to pre-order on the UK Apple site while they are expected to go on sale this coming November 7. As well as the main brand, retailers including John Lewis, Currys, Amazon and Very are likely to stock the flagship devices.
