Amazon Prime Video’s animated superhero series for adults is returning for a second season. The season two premiere of Invincible is just around the corner, following its universally acclaimed debut season in 2021.

Based on the ground-breaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible centres around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age, except his father is – or was – the most powerful superhero on the planet. In season two, Mark is still reeling from a betrayal while struggling to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear – that he might become his father without even knowing it.

Invincible’s first season earned a near-perfect, Certified Fresh 98 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and was renewed by Amazon for two more seasons. It is adapted from The Walking Dead creator Kirkman’s long-running comic-book series, which concluded in 2018 after a 15-year run.

Speaking to Amazon in April, Kirkman called the series “a love letter” to the superhero genre. He said: “The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that Cory and I grew up reading and loving, and it’s been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series.”

Invincible boasts an incredible ensemble voice cast with a Who’s Who of Hollywood lending their voices to bring the series to life. It stars The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun, Killing Eve’s Sandra Oh, Joker’s Zazie Beetz and The Hateful Eight’s Walton Goggins.
