Good news, iPhone users: you just got a huge WhatsApp update that Android can't match. An upgraded version of the popular messaging app has just dropped on iOS, bringing a whole new look and feel. There's an updated colour scheme and new icons which make the app look more sleek and modern.

The WhatsApp whizzes at WABetaInfo say that the update has begun rolling out to a 'limited number' of new users and that it should appear for more iPhone users over the coming weeks.

They even shared an image of the new app design showing off the new interface.

The folks at WABetaInfo said: "Even though it's not mentioned in the official changelog on the App Store, we can also confirm that a limited number of users can finally experiment with the new interface, that was previously exclusive to some beta testers."

They added: "If you don't have this feature, note that some accounts may receive it over the coming weeks, although it has not been indicated in the official changelog."

To get the new layout, you'll need to update to the latest version of WhatsApp by going to the App Store on your device.

This isn't the only big WhatsApp update to come out of Meta recently.

Last week, the social media giant announced it would be possible to switch between multiple accounts with ease on Android without needing to log out and in again.

That's because WhatsApp has now introduced passkeys, which let you lock your WhatsApp interface using Face ID, fingerprint, or a PIN for an additional layer of security.
