Meg Ryan is set to return to our screens next month for the first time in eight years as she stars in the romantic-comedy What Happens Later.

The iconic actress, who appeared in films such as Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail, last appeared on the silver screen in her 2015 directorial debut Ithaca. She's now revealed why she decided to step back from the spotlight as she admitted she wanted to focus on her family.

"I took a giant break because I felt like there's just so many other parts of my experience as a human being I wanted to develop," she said in a new interview. One of the main roles she wants to focus on is being a mother.
