Netflix viewers have hailed a new comedy film as the 'best they've watched in years' - showering it with 10/10 reviews.

Old Dads, was released on October 20 and quickly became the top movie on Netflix, leaving many viewers in stitches over the weekend. The film stars American stand-up comedian and actor Bill Burr, Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine as a group of dads trying to navigate their way through modern life. It's a tale of parenthood, friendship, and one man's bad temper, with the trio battling anything unfamiliar to them and created after 1987.

Bill Burr, who also wrote and directed the film, is known for his work on the Netflix animated sitcom, F is for Family. In Old Dads, he plays Jack Kelly, a father struggling to fit in at his son's preschool. Jack, who has anger issues, ends up having an outburst on the premises, insulting the principal and causing a stir. Meanwhile, his best mates, Connor and Mike, are finding it tough to adapt to a new boss after their company is sold to a young CEO with big changes in mind.

It isn't long before Jack and his buddies, each struggling to let go of their youth, realise they might need to adapt to the changing times, but will they ever be able to?

Old Dads has a refreshing ring of authenticity to it, largely because Bill is pretty much playing himself and drawing on real-life experiences. On the Netflix fan site Tudum, Burr shared: "I am an old dad. I was in kindergarten 50 years ago. When I showed up (at today''s school environment) everything was different. This movie is basically based on me and what I'm dealing with."

Speaking about his role as the grumpy dad, he added: "Jack represents the part of me that's trying to be a better person in the stubborn stupid way that I go about life."

YouTubers were quick to sing the praises of Old Dads, saying how refreshing it was to actually have something funny to watch for once.
