BBC EastEnders' Linda Carter gets massive surprise amid 'Dean Wicks return'

EastEnders is set for explosive scenes next week as Linda Carter gets a massive shock amid Dean Wicks' return to the hit soap.

It was revealed this weekend that Dean is returning to the BBC soap, after actor Matt Di Angelo's Walford comeback was accidentally leaked by a co-star in a backstage video. While EastEnders are yet to confirm the news, fans spotted Matt, 36, in the background of a filming video posted on TikTok. Prior to this, fans had long speculated Linda's rapist and former brother-in-law Dean would be back for the Christmas whodunnit.

And while details surrounding Dean's return remain unknown, upcoming spoilers next week see Linda get a massive shock as she's supported by her family. On Monday's episode, it's Halloween, and Linda is going big on the party plans at The Vic despite Elaine's fears that nobody is in the mood to celebrate due to Jay's accident. Things then go from bad to worse when Linda realises that George is hiding something from Elaine, and her mum overhears them bickering, demanding answers.

A sheepish George is forced to admit he’s paid out 50% of the bar sale to Cindy, which leaves Elaine both furious and hurt. After a heart-to-heart with Linda, Elaine agrees to hear George out and he explains his reasons. Later, Elaine decides to chivvy The Vic punters up and gets the party going, knowing that it was important to Mick and Linda as one of their big traditions.

However, things take a worrying turn as after putting Ollie to sleep, Linda goes into the kitchen and gets a massive shock. Later in the week, the Knights rally around Linda in her hour of need. What has Linda discovered?

It comes as the backstage filming video, which leaked Dean's return, sees the character in The Vic which is decorated for Christmas, ahead of the brutal Christmas Day death twist set to air in December.

It still remains to be seen who dies or who is involved in the scene this Christmas apart from The Six, but Dean's return could well mean he's heavily involved in the plot and that he and Linda will become embroiled in a final showdown with catastrophic consequences.

Then again, Dean's comeback would also be quite the red herring and the perfect distraction for bosses as they conceal the true murder victim ahead of the big episodes. There's still weeks to go, meaning there could be some big surprises and possible new theories emerging on who actually dies.
