Coronation Street star bids farewell to the cobbles for good in sad scenes
Coronation Street aired a big exit tonight, as one character left the cobbles for good.
Serial killer Stephen Reid died in shocking scenes on the ITV soap recently, after Peter Barlow killed him. Mum Audrey has been adamant that she will honour her son's legacy by holding a funeral for him in the village.
Tonight on the ITV soap, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) was seen struggling as he adjusts back to life on the Street following Stephen's harrowing attack. He was left for dead in the boot of his taxi, hidden for days in some woods before eventually being found.
Tim is still struggling, which was made clear tonight when his mum Elaine packed her bags and said farewell. He promised to drop her to where she was staying, but getting in his taxi seemed too much for Tim.
Elaine headed away from the Cobbles tonight (ITV)As they stepped inside to get something, Tim disappeared, clearly not coping with being near the vehicle again. He was terrified by all that had happened, but eventually took his mum Elaine in the taxi to go and stay with a friend.

Tim actor Joe Duttine previously teased his character could meet his end during the huge Super Soap Week scenes, but he ended up surviving.
Before his fate was revealed, and asked if fans should be worried, he said: "I think so, yeah. I like the fact that we don't know what's going on with Tim after Monday's episode and we focus on the story with the Platts instead. I like the fact that we don't know where he is. You almost forget about him. So I think the audience should be worried for Tim."
Tim became a target for the evil serial killer Stephen Reid when he happened upon Teddy's decomposing body and realised what had happened to Teddy, Leo and Rufus. Knowing the truth, that put him in grave danger.
