Martin Tyler will return to the gantry on Monday to cover Fulham's trip to Tottenham - but he won't be commentating for Sky Sports.

Tyler was Sky's lead Premier League commentator for more than three decades before leaving the company at the end of last season when his contract expired. The 78-year-old was replaced by Peter Drury but insisted he wasn't retiring as a commentator.

Tyler has stuck to that promise and will cover the upcoming London derby for Premier League Productions. The company, owned by the Premier League, provide the worldwide feed. Not all of the division's broadcasting partners have their own production teams.

That means thousands of viewers across the world will hear Tyler's voice during Monday's game. He's regarded as one of English football's greatest ever commentators, having covered countless competitions since his career started with ITV in 1974.

Tyler is best known for two moments in particular. The first happened in April 1996, when Liverpool defeated Newcastle 4-3 in one of the Premier League's greatest ever games. Stan Collymore scored the winner as Tyler screamed: "Collymore closing in!"

The second moment unfolded in May 2012, when Sergio Aguero scored a last-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers to hand Manchester City their first Premier League title - denying Manchester United. Tyler screamed in disbelief: "Aguerroooooooooooo!"

Sky confirmed Tyler's surprise exit in June. He was unwell towards the end of last season, denying him the chance to sign off in style. "It's been a privilege to play a small part in the broadcasting history of the greatest league in the world," said Tyler on leaving.

"I have worked alongside legions of wonderful professionals in all aspects of the television industry... I thank them all for their support and expertise. It has been an honour to be a member of a very gifted team."

Sky's director of football Gary Hughes added: "Everyone at Sky Sports would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Martin for his unparalleled contribution and dedication to our coverage over the last 30 years. 'The Voice' will always be synonymous with the Premier League and Sky Sports. When you think of commentary, you think of Martin Tyler."

Jamie Carragher described Tyler's "Aguerroooooooooooo" line as "one of the most iconic commentary lines in the history of the game". Tyler commentated on Carragher's first goal for Liverpool before the ex-defender joined him on the gantry.

Carragher added: "I listened to Martin Tyler commentate on Everton's greatest ever game against Bayern Munich in 1985. He was commentating on my full debut and first goal for Liverpool as an 18-year-old in 1997. I then had the privilege to work alongside him for 10 years... Martin is one of the all-time legends of the commentary box."
