Inside Amber Rose's turbulent romance with Kanye West
Kanye West is well-known for his marriage to reality TV icon Kim Kardashian, but he's also been involved with a host of beautiful women including model Amber Rose.
Amber and Kanye dated for two years from 2008 and it's safe to say their romance was far from a happy one. The former couple went public with their romance very quickly after the rapper called time on his engagement to fashion star Alexis Phifer.
Kanye, legally known as Ye, split from Alexis following the tragic death of his mother Donda West the previous year. He then grew close to Amber and convinced her to star in the unreleased video for his hit track Robocop.

Things heated up between them pretty quickly (WireImage)Shortly after, Amber and Kanye appeared opposite each other naked in a Louis Vuitton campaign. The pair then made their red carpet debut at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The awards were made infamous after Kanye stormed on stage as Taylor Swift was giving her Best Female Video acceptance speech. In a wild rant, the Flashing Lights hitmaker said Beyoncé deserved the award instead as she had "one of the best videos of all time".
A year after the VMAs, Amber and Kanye decided to take a break while the musician focused on recording his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The break ended up being a permanent one and Kanye was linked to Kim Kardashian shortly after.

He soon moved on with Kim Kardashian (Getty Images)Rose was clearly unhappy with how quickly her ex-boyfriend moved on and described Kim as a "homewrecker" in an interview with Star magazine. While the two women eventually made friends over Twitter, Amber continued to speak out against Kanye.
During a 2020 interview with the No Jumper podcast, Amber slammed Kanye for the way he treated her during their romance. "Me and him are two very different people. I'm a compassionate person, I have empathy. I'm a good person. That's why people love me," Amber said.
The model added: "You can't really mention anybody who ever says anything bad about me except for him because I got away. I'm not like him at all."
Kanye hit out at Amber and claimed he needed to take 30 showers after being with Amber. Speaking on the podcast, she said: "To slut-shame me and say you needed 30 showers, it's like, bro. Took me around the world, since when do you need 30 showers? I could see if it was a one-night thing and you want to slut-shame me, okay, but you've done a lot for me." Elsewhere in the podcast, Amber said Kanye had "bullied" her for years during their romance.
