Britney Spears shares stark confession about Las Vegas wedding to old pal
Britney Spears' new memoir, The Woman In Me, is set to be released at the start of next week, with a new excerpt revealing the reason behind her "drunken" wedding to pal Jason Alexander.
In the upcoming memoir, which will hit bookshop shelves around the world early next week, the 41-year-old will lift the lid on her turbulent life. And within the cover of the hotly-anticipated book, the pop superstar will recall the day she married childhood friend Jason in early 2004.
Speaking about how she got "s**tfaced", Britney writes in her bombshell memoir: "I don’t even remember that night at all, but from what I pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies — Mona Lisa Smile and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre — then had the brilliant idea of going to A Little White Chapel at three thirty in the morning."

Britney and her pal Jason were both just 22 years of age when they got married. After getting hitched and exchanging vows on January 3, 2004, at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas, their marriage ended up being annulled three days later, with their marriage only lasting for 55 hours in total.
Then just four years after her brief marriage to her childhood pal, Britney was placed under a conservatorship in 2008. Following a lengthy #FreeBritney campaign, a judge then ended the conservatorship in 2021.
This comes as Britney prepares to shock the world with her bombshell memoir. So far, quite a few bombshells have been revealed from the book. One of them was how she struggled when her father "fat shamed" her, and another was how she had an abortion after falling pregnant with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake's baby.
