You could be pulling crackers with Father Christmas himself from just £269pp.
Wowcher is currently selling cut price holidays to Rovaniemi in Lapland, Finland, including three, four or five-night stays with return flights from London Gatwick, London Stansted or London Luton.
You will get the chance to stay at the Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus or the Hotel Metsähirvas, and have plenty of time to explore Lapland whether you want to have a go at a reindeer sleigh ride or try a husky safari, find Father Christmas or go out in search of the Northern Lights (although it's worth noting the experiences aren't included in the package).
Festive food and drink comes in the form of warming mulled wine and rich hot chocolate, as well as Lappish street food like sausages and grilled salmon. For desserts visitors can indulge in gingerbread cookies and sweet pastries at the Christmas markets.
"Each room features snug, cloud-like bedding, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The modern bathrooms are equipped with all the comforts you need, and soft towels await you after a day of snowy adventures," Wowcher promises.
Eight remote and beautiful but brutal jobs if you want to leave it all behind"Savour the flavours of Lapland at the on-site restaurants, where the day begins with delicious buffet breakfasts featuring local specialties. Throughout the day, indulge in fantastic cuisine crafted from fresh, regional ingredients. Warm up with hot beverages and hearty dishes, perfect for fuelling your winter excursions.
"You'll receive a warm Lapland welcome at the reception, where the friendly staff are ready to assist you with any requests. We can't wait to make your Lapland stay a magical and unforgettable experience!"
"Explore the charming Christmas markets, where the air is filled with the scent of gingerbread cookies and mulled wine. Shop for handcrafted Lappish gifts, intricate ornaments, and traditional Sami crafts."
To bag the deal you have to buy two trips through Wowcher. The cheapest will get you a three night stay and flights from London, from £269 per person. It will take place at the beginning of November, so festive spirits may not be quite as high as they might be later in the season.
The trip closest to Christmas is taking place on December 11. The price tag is bumped up to a significantly higher £599 per person for the three nights then, meaning a family of four would need to pay £2,400 to make the trip.
If the idea of forking out that much cash leaves a bad taste in the mouth, then finding some festive cheer in the UK may be a wise idea and you're in luck as the UK's Christmas markets have started to open up for the season.
Alternatively, Lapland UK looks set to return this year. The Christmas themed attraction runs from November 11 until December 24, 2023 and is based in Ascot, Berkshire. Tickets start from £59pp, plus booking fees. It may be tricky making your way in this year as all tickets have now sold out, meaning returns are your best bet. Otherwise, the website is taking sign-ups for 2024.
