Should ALL MPs face being put through the brutal, televised Celeb SAS: Who Dares Wins course?

For sheer entertainment, yes, of course, but former special forces agent Billy Billingham believes it would sort the chaff from the chaffier, and force them to behave better in Parliament, after having a breakthrough with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock. “Let’s get them all in there and wash out all this corruption and nonsense and lies,” he says, adding Matt was “P for Petrified” when he arrived at the camp in Vietnam.

The former SAS agents “wished we could extend the course for five days just to really get him”, he adds. Billy continues that Matt “tried to be cocky – tried to play politician”. He adds: “You’re going back to why the nation hates you. You ain’t getting away with it. I think he tried to come protecting himself, barriers up.

“He did try the old political crap and answer back and all that sort of got knocked out of him pretty sharpish.” Matt has, disappointingly, managed to keep up with fellow recruits so far. Billy says: “I was expecting he might pull a fast start, ‘I’m injured or I don’t want to do this.’ But he hung in there.” The prolonging of Hancock’s suffering is bittersweet.
