E4 viewers of Married At First Sight UK spotted a new groom has been on a rival dating show.

Mark said 'I do' to Sean on Tuesday night's episode of the hit E4 programme. Singletons have turned to the Married At First Sight experts in the hopes of finding love when meeting at the alter. Yet many viewers noticed Mark had been on another show in the search for love. The 36-year-old fashion worker previously appeared on Channel 4 show First Dates back in 2017.

He went on a date with Junior from Watford on the dating programme and appeared again on the show last year in a look back episode of the show called “The Awkward Ones”. Mark, who was 29 at the time and worked as a VIP personal shopper, admitted he was “nervous” before his date as he hadn’t been on one for a while. Yet there was nothing to worry about as the pair appeared to hit it off.

Mark and Junior bonded over their shared plans for the future as they talked about children and aspirations. After their dinner date they even carried on their night with drinks in Soho. They even shared a cheeky kiss in the taxi, after Junior admitted he “doesn’t kiss on the first date”. At the end of the show, Mark and Junior agreed to have a second date. However, things didn't work out in the end as they didn't meet up again.

Last year Mark gave an update to First Dates fans as he revealed he lost five stone since appearing on the show. He said: “So since the date I’ve lost five stone. I’ve got a trainer and changed my diet plan which has no Chinese, no fish fingers and no wine, let alone with lemonade, so no wine at all.” Mark confessed he was still looking for his soulmate as he added: “Going forward, I am still looking for dates so hit me up if you want a date. I’m hopefully going to find one that’s the right fit.”

He walked down the aisle to New Look manager Sean on Tuesday's episode of Married At First Sight. Viewers noticed Mark had been on First Dates, as one said: "Omg, totally recognise Mark from #MAFSUK from being on @‌FirstDates “Uh uh I’m feeling it”." Another added: "Mark… #MAFSUK, he’s been on #FirstDates too, no???" Someone else wrote: "Mark has been on First Dates. How many "contestants" are there that haven't been asked to audition after being on another show? #MAFSUK."

A fourth quipped: "Thought I recognised him from somewhere." The couple are late arrivals in the E4 experiment as they join Adrienne and Matt who wed on Monday. Yet Mark nearly didn't get married after suffering a wardrobe blunder. He ended up storming off and letting his emotions get the better of him.

Mark appeared all smiles as he talked family members through what he planned to wear. But joy soon turned to despair when he realised he was given the wrong shirt. He said he could no longer match his shirt with his skull accessories and buttons, as he hit out: "The button is not meant to be there, it's meant to be the skull ones. If I have to wear this, what's the point?" Luckily for Mark he was given the right shirt and was able to make it to his big day, despite being a bit late.
