Millie Bobby Brown has been slammed by fans after her brutal admission about Netflix's series Stranger Things.

The 19-year-old star, who plays Eleven in the hit Netflix show, opened up in a recent interview about how she is ready to say goodbye to the show due to it stopping her from taking on other work. The 19-year-old has been in the job since she was 12 but says she is now ready to get stuck into other projects.

The show will soon come to an end with its fifth and final season. Millie found fame on the show, starring alongside Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, David Harbour and other famous faces.

Speaking to Glamour magazine about the upcoming end of the spooky sci-fi series, she said: "When you're ready, you're like, 'All right, let's do this. Let's tackle this last senior year. Let's get out of here'." During the interview, Millie explained that shooting for Stranger Things involves long hours which means she can't take on other projects as well.

"Stranger Things takes up a lot of time to film and it's preventing me from creating stories that I'm passionate about. So I'm ready to say, 'Thank you, and goodbye'," she said. However, some fans of the actress think she was being ungrateful for landing the role on the show which has shot her fame since 2016.

People took to Twitter to discuss Millie's latest interview. One said: "How about be grateful for the thing that gave you the life you enjoy today." As another wrote: "Stranger Things is the only reason she's famous lol," with another commenting: "She has the right to feel that way. However, it's stupid to put your employer on blast publicly for - checks notes - having to work."

"Imagine being this ungrateful to the role that gave you fame and pays you millions," another tweeted as a fifth said: "She could have worded that a little better to sound a bit more grateful but I completely understand where she's coming from."

Millie has previously spoken about being excited for the series to end. Speaking to Seventeen in March, the actress remarked: "I'm definitely ready to wrap up. I feel like there's a lot of the story that's been told now, and we know of it, it's been in our lives for a very long time.

"But I'm very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones up. I'm able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I'm really grateful [for the show]."
