Jada Pinkett Smith told Will to 'be realistic' about temptations in Hollywood
Jada Pinkett Smith has revealed she told her estranged husband Will Smith that there was "a need for transparency" in their marriage because of "Hollywood temptations".
The 52-year-old actress announced last week that she and Will have been separated for seven years, with the former couple trying to figure out what the future of their marriage will look like. During an appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose podcast, Jada has now opened up about the start of her relationship with Will.
She admitted she had a chat with her husband during which she told him to be "realistic" about the amount of temptations in Hollywood. Jada explained: "There was a need for transparency.

Let's have a partnership around this? Let's be very realistic of what this life is, if we're talking about how we're going to be together forever and ever and ever that means there's going to be some temptations, let’s be in partnership and talk about that."

Jada said she knew before she married Will that there would be times he looked at other women. "I didn't go into my marriage thinking my husband wouldn’t look at anyone else, I'm a realist in many ways, I know what it was like for me," she explained.
The talk show host also admitted to feeling overwhelmed when she realised she could "have anybody". Jada explained: "When I first came to Hollywood and I could go into the club and have anybody, just the level of that is so intoxicating."

Speaking to People magazine Jada said: "We're still figuring it out." She added: "We've been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us."
Will and Jada share two children together - Willow, 22, and Jaden, 25. Speaking about their kids, Jada said: "My children, they're little gurus. They've taught me a deep sense of self-acceptance."
The couple has experienced several difficulties in their marriage, including when she had a four-year affair with a friend of her son. She later openly discussed her "entanglement" with rapper August Alsina in 2020. In the past, they have alluded to having an "unconventional" union, with Jada once saying they are free to "do whatever they want" in their "grown relationship".
