Will Smith's blunt two-word response as wife Jada shares more marriage details

Will Smith has shared a blunt, two-word response as the details of his separation from Jada Pinkett-Smith come to light.

In a tell-all interview last week, Jada revealed that she and Will have been separated for seven years, marking 2016 as their "ultimate break-up." She's since discussed her marriage and the details of her tell-all memoir, Worthy, with multiple publications and platforms.

Most recently, she spoke to Jay Shetty on the On Purpose podcast, telling the host that the couple have been through "several breakups" during their 19-year marriage. "There have been several breakups," Jada revealed.

"My 40th birthday was a big breakup for us, we were looking towards separating and divorcing. We separated and then we had a reconciliation, the world just didn’t know. And then 2016 came and we had the ultimate break. We were living lives as single people," she told Jay.

Since her revelations have come to light, Will has shared a clip of himself enjoying a ride on a boat, with the simple caption: "Notifications off," followed by a smiley face. Jada dropped two laughing-crying emojis in the comments, confirming that his message was most likely about the backlash his estranged wife has faced for speaking about their tumultuous marriage.

In the days that followed Jada's confessions, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air star kept quiet, but he has now revealed his thoughts in a telling email response. He reportedly sent the New York Times an email response to Jada's article and claimed it had "kind of woke him up". Paraphrasing Will in their piece, the outlet said he has realised Jada is more "resilient, clever and compassionate than he'd understood".

He went on to say: "When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties."

While his words don't clearly indicate Will's positioning on his wife's decision to air their issues, it does appear as though he backs her.
