All the signs Strictly's Karen Hauer and her husband Jordan Wyn-Jones had split

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left stunned by the news that Karen Hauer has experienced heartbreak behind-the-scenes of the show as her third marriage has come to an abrupt end.

The 41-year-old professional dancer has been applauded for putting on a brave face after taking to the dance floor to perform in front of cameras just hours after news broke that her marriage to personal trainer Jordan Wyn-Jones had collapsed. Venezuelan beauty Karen, whose maiden name is Andreas, has been unlucky in love as she was first married to dancer Matthew Hauer from 2000 until 2009 and then to ex-Strictly professional Kevin Clifton from 2015 until 2018.

Karen and Jordan were married for just 16 months before the made the painful decision to split after enduring a “tough time” together. And while many fans have been shocked to learn that the ballroom dancing professional has witnessed yet another marriage come to an end, some clues had been present ahead of the shock split reveal.

Ring of proof

An early sign that Karen and Jordan’s marriage could have been over came a week before the split was announced as Karen was spied without her ring on her finger. The dance star was one of the guests at the Pride of Britain Awards at Grosvenor House on Sunday 8 October.

The dance star appeared at the event alongside her Strictly 2023 parterre Eddie Kadi - and Jordan was noticeably absent. But that wasn’t the only thing missing on the night as eagle eyed fans may have spotted her wedding ring was also nowhere to be seen.

Earlier in the month, the dance star also appeared on Good Morning Britain where some viewers noticed she actively hid her ring finger. The dance star strategically positioned her long black sleeved top in order to hide her left hand and any jewellery that might be on it - or not on it.

Trying to make things work

Karen had previously opened up to fans that she and Jordan were in counselling as their married lives progressed. The BBC star explained that she and her husband had decided to get professional help in order to express themselves clearly to each other.

She told Hello! magazine: “Counselling. You know what I think communication is massive but learning how to communicate, you know, so we get outside help. So whenever we're having tricky moments or anything like that, it's just seeing the vulnerable side of each other and understanding it and knowing that both of us are working on things because nobody is perfect.”

Karen added: “There is no such thing as a happy marriage or a happy relationship with the perfect couple. It's about dealing with things the right way and not just running away from things, and I guess that's what makes us tick even better and understand one another.”

Social silence

Another sign that all may not have been well between the duo was the noticeable lack of social media posts between them. While Karen and Jordan were traditionally not exactly shy about sharing loved up snaps together online, there had been a lack of updates in recent weeks.

Indeed, the last shared photo of the duo together on Karen’s main feed was nine weeks ago - with snaps of them together at a funfair in August. Karen shared the photo alongside the short, playful caption: “Sunday Funday.”

Jordan also shared highlights from the same trip - with a video showing him winning a teddy for Karen. He uploaded that online along with a short caption stating: “Just a couple of days”.

Split news

A friend close to the couple told the Mirror on Saturday that Karen and Jordan had decided to go their separate ways. However, it has been reported that the couple remain on good terms and have no bad feelings towards each other.

The source said: “Karen and Jordan have had a tough time in the past few months and decided to split. It’s obviously very sad for both of them. But there’s no ill-will whatsoever. The split is amicable, and they wish each other the best.”

Karen was previously married to dancer Kevin Clifton and they continued to perform together on the show - and even on stage together - when their marriage ended in 2018. He went on to begin dating investigative journalist Stacey Dooley who was a Strictly winner in 2018 and they welcomed a baby daughter named Minnie together in January this year.
