Strictly fans spot Karen Hauer putting on a brave face hours after husband split

Strictly Come Dancing fans shared an outpouring of support for professional Karen Hauer as she took to the dancefloor just as it was revealed her marriage to Jordan Wyn-Jones had come to an end.

Karen is partnered with comedian and TV presenter Eddie Kadi in this year's BBC dance competition and despite hitting the heights with the first 10 of the series last week, awarded by Shirley Ballas, viewers felt there was something not quite right with Karen when she danced on Saturday's live show.

The 41-year-old, who was previously married to former Strictly pro Kevin Clifton, had married Jordan in June 2022 but ewas seen without her wedding ring when she showed up at the Pride of Britain Awards last weekend. A source has since told The Mirror : "Karen and Jordan have had a tough time in the past few months and decided to split. It's obviously very sad for both of them, but there's no ill-will whatsoever. The split is amicable, and they wish each other the best."

Karen bravely took to the dance floor after the news went public, performing the American Smooth with Eddie but the pair failed to ignite a fire with the judges this time around, being given 24 out of 40 and putting them back in the pack on the leaderboard.

Fans were concerned for Karen though, as viewers questioned what was wrong with the dancer as she tried to put on a brave face throughout the routine. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan asked: "Is Karen ok? Her expression is off — did he accidentally injure her, did she hurt herself, is something wrong with her dress? She looked - immediately after the routine, before the feedback - upset."

Another felt the same, adding in a post on X: "What was wrong with Karen? She didn't look herself at all."

Karen had revealed to Hello! magazine just a couple of months after tying the knot that they have already been receiving counselling to improve their relationship as they looked to "learn to communicate" with the Strictly star insisting that there is "no such thing" as the perfect couple.

Speaking further about her marriage, Karen added: "I think communication is massive, learning how to communicate... so we get outside help. Whenever we're having tricky moments or anything like that, it's just seeing the vulnerable side of each other and understanding it and knowing that both of us are working on things because nobody is perfect."
