Corrie's Stephen Reid actor Todd Boyce confirms 'exciting' new role after exit

Coronation Street star Todd Boyce has revealed where fans can see him next, as he bows out of the ITV soap as killer Stephen Reid.

Stephen's exit will air on Friday night, as the police race to capture the serial killer before he escapes. Events leads to a deadly showdown as he could kill two more characters.

Jenny Connor and Sarah Platt are left battling for their lives when Stephen strikes again, leading to a hostage drama - but can he be stopped? There's still the question of what has happened to Tim Metcalfe after Stephen appeared to kill him on Monday night.

With it not confirmed exactly how Stephen leaves the show, actor Todd has revealed what's next for him. He shared his excitement over two new roles, with him swapping TV sets for theatre stages in the coming weeks and months.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Todd told us: "The last week of November I start rehearsals for panto, which runs the last three weeks of December. And then Bill Kenwright, who was famously an actor in Corrie before he became a massive theatre producer, has just offered me — without even blinking — the Laurence Olivier part in Sleuth.

"That's going to be a tour starting in Windsor and doing a tour around London, and then coming to The Lowry here [in Salford]. That's going to take me through to the end of June so I'm dead excited about that."

On Friday, Stephen finds himself confronted as his killer crimes are finally exposed, with his initial escape plan thwarted. New spoiler pictures show the moment Stephen attacks his own niece Sarah, leaving her in grave peril.

Stephen is forced to return to the Street after being unable to escape at the airport as planned, as his passport was missing. It seems Jenny knows a little bit about that, with actress Sally Ann Matthews telling The Mirror and other press that she may be the one behind it.

But what happens next paves the way for dramatic scenes, as Jenny and Stephen become embroiled in a showdown as Sarah's fate remains a mystery. New spoilers tease a thrilling conclusion, as Stephen looks prepared to kill Jenny.

Holding a broken bottle against her throat, the villain heads out onto the cobbles to make his getaway with some of the residents watching on in horror. Stephen takes her hostage - but can he get away before the police catch up with him?
