Austria v Belgium prediction

Over 2.5 goals @

Belgium endured a miserable 2022 World Cup campaign, scoring only one goal in three games as they failed to qualify from their group.

However, they are flying under new manager Domenico Tedesco, winning four of their five Euro 2024 qualifiers, as well as beating Germany 3-2 in a friendly in March.

Belgium's only slip-up of the Tedesco era came in June's 1-1 draw at home to Austria, who are also in good nick after last month's 3-1 win in Sweden.

Austria have found the net in each of their last nine internationals and over 2.5 goals looks a good bet in Vienna given the confidence in both camps.

Iceland v Luxembourg prediction

Draw or Luxembourg double chance @

Iceland scored an injury-time goal to beat Bosnia 1-0 in their last home qualifier, but they had lost their previous three matches and look vulnerable favourites against Luxembourg on Friday.

Luxembourg have been thrashed 6-0 and 9-0 by rampant Group J leaders Portugal, but their other results have been excellent with a 0-0 draw in Slovakia, followed by 2-0 wins against Liechtenstein and Bosnia.

They beat Iceland 3-1 at home last month and, having lost only four of their last 15 internationals, they are worth backing to avoid defeat in Reykjavik.

Netherlands v France prediction

Both teams to score @

The glamour tie of the day takes place at the Johan Cruyff Arena and both teams to score is a solid selection when the Netherlands face World Cup runners-up France.

The Dutch are aiming to avenge their 4-0 defeat to Les Bleus in March and they have scored eight goals in three subsequent qualifying wins against Gibraltar, Greece and the Republic of Ireland.

The Netherlands were involved in a couple of high-scoring games at the Nations League finals in June, losing 4-2 to Croatia in extra-time before a 3-2 defeat to Italy.

France's squad is packed with attacking talent, but they kept only one clean sheet in seven matches at the World Cup and lost 2-1 to Germany in a friendly last time out.

Portugal v Slovakia prediction

Portugal to win to nil @

Portugal have not put a foot wrong since Roberto Martinez took charge after the World Cup, winning their first six Euro 2024 qualifying games 4-0, 6-0, 3-0, 1-0, 1-0 and 9-0.

One of the 1-0 victories came away to Slovakia, who are second in Group J, with an impressive tally of 13 points despite scoring only eight goals in six games.

Slovakia had only two shots on target in their home defeat to Portugal, when Bruno Fernandes scored the only goal of the game, and they may struggle to break down an outstanding Portuguese defence in the return fixture.
