Netflix releases full trailer for mind-bending police drama Bodies

Netflix has just dropped the full trailer for Bodies, a thrilling new police drama with a twist that will certainly keep you guessing.

The eight-part limited series, inspired by Si Spencer's graphic novel of the same name, follows four different detectives from four different time periods - 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053 - as they investigate the exact same murder in London's East End.

As links are made across the years, Stephen Graham's mysterious political leader Elias Mannix becomes a key figure in uncovering a conspiracy that spans more than 150 years. The trailer kicks off with 2023's main detective DS Hasan (played by The Responder's Amaka Okafor) finding the body of a man who appears to have been shot in the eye on Longharvest Lane, Whitechapel.

We then see DS Hasan discovering that DI Hillinghead (played by Andor's Kyle Soller) investigated the exact same murder on Longharvest Lane in 1890, while DS Whiteman (played by The Queen's Gambit's Jacob Fortune-Lloyd) looked into it more than 50 years later in 1941.

"The body is from the past, present and future," Elias Mannix tells DS Hasan, before the trailer switches to DC Maplewood (played by Unorthodox's Shira Haas) finding the same body in 2053.

"It's hard to grasp, isn't it?" he continues. "But I'm going to tell you everything, and it's going to blow your mind."

Torchwood writer Paul Tomalin developed the show, while Marco Kreuzpaintner sat in the director's chair.

Bodies comes to Netflix on October 19.
