Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's Tech Golf League (TGL) launches in just a couple of months' time and the innovative project has unveiled the latest additions to its roster.

TGL, which will see golf played in a made-for-TV studio comprised of simulators and dynamic chipping and putting areas, already boasts a roster packed with the biggest stars on the PGA Tour including Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele.

Three new names were added to the roster on Wednesday – Keegan Bradley, Cameron Young and Sahith Theegala. Bradley, the 2011 PGA Championship winner, has long been a fan-favourite on the tour, while Young and Theegala are two of the game's rising stars. The trio follows last week's announcement that European Ryder Cup stars Shane Lowry, Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton had signed up for the league.

The league – a joint venture by Woods and McIlroy under the banner of TMRW Sports – now has 19 players signed up, with five more spaces left to fill. The original plan was for six three-man teams to compete each week in the TGL, but the teams will now have four players assigned to them, with one player sitting out each week. No LIV Golf players are involved.

Four teams have already been announced: Los Angeles Golf Club, Boston, Atlanta Drive Golf Club and New York. The LA-based team is owned by the Williams sisters, Serena and Venus, alongside Serena's husband, Reddit founder and billionaire Alexis Ohanian, while Fenway Sports Group – owners of Premier League club Liverpool – owns the Boston team.

With five players yet to be revealed, the biggest names on the PGA Tour who have not yet been signed up by TGL are world number one Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. Both men are based in Texas, and with TGL based at an arena in Florida, it may not be logistically appealing.

TGL begins on January 9 and will be broadcast live weekly in primetime on ESPN. The league will be based at SoFi Center, a purpose-built arena in Palm Beach Gardens, with 15 regular season matches to be played before a playoff bracket.

The players are yet to be added to a team, but Bradley, 37, is hugely popular in his home state of Massachusetts, making him an obvious face of the Boston franchise.

Theegala, 25, starred in Netflix's Full Swing documentary series and has gained a cult following his emergence on the tour in 2022, narrowly missing out on the win at the Waste Management Open. The Californian went close to victory on a few more occasions before finally getting over the hump last month, winning the Fortinet Championship.

Big-hitting Young, meanwhile, is still awaiting his first PGA Tour win, but he has been hugely impressive in the majors. The 26-year-old finished runner-up at both The Open and the PGA Championship in 2022 and was seventh at The Masters in April.

“These are three stellar payers who will bring competitive fire to any TGL team," TGL boss Mike McCarley said. "Keegan is known throughout the golf community as a fierce opponent and someone who loves team golf, while Cam and Sahith have quickly become fan favorites as two of the most talented young players in the game.”
