Wrexham owners finally respond to "motherf*****" Billy Sharp's outburst
Wrexham chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have reignited the club's dramatic feud with ex-Sheffield United forward Billy Sharp as they laughed off his criticism of their club.
The veteran striker's longstanding quarrel with the Red Dragons was first sparked following the Blades' FA Cup win over them last year. Phil Parkinson's men had took the fourth-round tie to a replay at Bramall Lane, after nearly pulling off a giant-killing at the Racecourse Ground.
Despite taking the game into injury time at 1-1, Sharp would get Sheffield United in front in the 94th minute, before Sander Berge scored to break Wrexham hearts. Following this, though, the veteran forward appeared far from satisfied after the victory, as he criticised his opponents for their conduct prior to the clash.
Speaking to ITV Sport after the game, the incensed striker particularly took issue with Wrexham's social media posts before the game, saying: "I wasn't happy with the way they've been as a club before the game, eyeing up Spurs. They've not even beaten us."

He also seemed to take aim at the team's travelling supporters gesturing tears towards the 4,700 fans who had made the trip to Yorkshire.
Now Wrexham's famous owners have fired a barbed response to Sharp's outburst, and seemed to see the funny side of the ordeal. Reynolds and McElhenney are famed for their tongue-in-cheek approach to life and it seems that they were amused by Sharp's comments.
Speaking as part of the 'Welcome to Wrexham' docuseries, Reynolds admitted: "It was really interesting. It was psychology 1-on-1, it was like "oh we own you right now". You're a Championship team, and second place in the Championship, you guys are amazing.
"And this guy we just got under his skin. It was so, so wonderful to see that we got under that guy's skin the way he did, before a laughing McElhenney interjected to quip: 'We were living rent free in that m************* brain."
Reflecting on the infamous encounter, the now-LA Galaxy star Sharp revealed his own side of the ugly feud, saying: "I scored the goal, which knocked them out, and a little scuffle happened in the changing room. I don’t really like their manager anyway from past experiences, and he probably doesn’t like me."
Speaking about the possibility of the fracas being covered in the FX documentary, Sharp added: "I’ll wait to see what happens and have my say afterwards. The record book says we beat them in the FA Cup, so they can have a documentary about it if they want."
