When Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon suggests a product that has "really changed the tone" of her skin for the better, and it's affordable? Skincare lovers everywhere will most likely run to the shops and online to seek it out. The 47-year-old New Orleans native some years ago (in an interview with Harper's Bazaar) revealed that her secret skincare weapon that leaves her skin youthful are the Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules.

And while this celebrity-approved Line Erasing Night Serum has somewhat of an A-list price tag attached - £77 - usually, fans of the iconic brand can snap up these anti-ageing saviours from Amazon for a fraction of the price in the final few hours of its Prime Day sales for just £37.74.

These capsules, that Reese revealed she uses before applying her night cream, act to "visibly diminish the look of lines and wrinkles" with the retinol ingredients enhancing your skin's natural collagen and "improve skin texture, tone, and clarity". And it's not just the Legally Blonde star who is impressed with the results from using the seum - with some seeing changes in just one week.

One shopper said: "I can definitely notice a change in frown lines and skin pigmentation. Smoother skin and more even tone. I’ve had no dryness or flaking however I know this can occur with retinol products so do moisturise well before bed. Feels like a primer soft and silky texture. And pods are degradable which I love."

Another, who received this product as a gift, added: "I was so impressed with the improvement in my skin over just a week that I bought more of all of the products in the set. At 66 my skin is ageing, but these have really made a difference. My skin is smoother and wrinkles are definitely reduced. I'd highly recommend this product."

"The first anti-aging product that amazingly works. I’m 32 with dry skin, used 2-3times per week at night BUT put your moisturizer on top (otherwise it will make your skin look dry in the morning)," shared a third.

While this respected brand worked for many skincare lovers, some were left disappointed after the ingredients in the serum didn't quite work with their skin. One Amazon customer who left two stars wrote: "Very disappointed. Started getting painful bumps on forehead and cheeks. Will not recommend."

Another added how it was the texture that "threw me off COMPLETELY", likening it more to a primer than a serum, commenting on its lack of absorption into your skin. They said: "Skin didn’t feel or look hydrated at all... I’m glad I bought this when it was on sale. When I saw night serum, I expected a dewy consistency, super hydrating. This is more paste like and feels quite drying."

Skincare lovers have also seen these fast results from a number of other brands - if you're not so much a fan of Elizabeth Arden. RoC, another celebrity loved brand - Kim Kardashian is a fan of its eye cream - does a Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum (£10.61) that has given customers a "smoothness of lines after a weeks use". If you're after a more luxurious product (with a more luxurious price tag), Eve Lom's Age Defying Smoothing Treatment, which costs £120 from M&S, has been described as "wee golden treasures".

If capsules aren't really your bag, No7's Pure Retinol Night Repair Cream from Boots is £29.71 and has turned anti-ageing sceptics into full-blown advocates. One said: " I am very sceptical about what creams claim to do but I have seen a definite improvement in the wrinkles in my over 60 face. I would definitely recommend this." Another that offers similar results is Olay Regenerist's 24 Night Face Moisturiser, which retails from Boots at £19.

However, is Elizabeth Arden is your skincare queen, get these capsules in your Amazon basket at this discounted price here before it's too late - Amazon Prime Day ends in just a few hours!
