Paloma Faith shares heartbreaking reason behind split from husband Leyman
Paloma Faith has spoken out about her split from ex husband Leyman Lachine, nearly one year after it was reported that the A-list couple had called it quits.
The 42-year-old singer has laid bare the emotions of the separation in her upcoming sixth studio album, which is largely inspired by the personal challenges in her life over the past couple of years.
It was first reported that Paloma had split from Leyman Lahcine last November, after the musician had allegedly told friends at Jonathan Ross's Halloween party that she was single once again after five years of marriage. She confirmed they'd separated in August, revealing she was now a "single mum" to their daughters in a vacation post on Instagram.

Speaking about the influence of the divorce on her album, she told the Sun : "The track listing runs chronologically through the course of a long-term relationship breakdown that involves c hildren, because that’s a very different experience to the cut-and-runs of youth."
Paloma first began dating Leyman in 2013, seven years after she she split from her first husband, Rian Hayes. While the talented musician has never confirmed that she and Leyman had tied the knot, her new song 'Divorce', suggests that the couple had once exchanged vows. It remains unknown exactly why Paloma and the 36-year-old, with whom she co-parents, broke up.

"I could disappear into my melancholy or I wear it as a badge of honour," she said. "The album is about taking responsibility for your own happiness." That doesn't mean making the album was easy for Paloma though. The BRIT-nominated artist admits that 'Divorce' is "one of the saddest" tracks on the album, which is "uncomfortable" and "difficult" for her to hear.
Despite the numerous nods to her marriage collapsing in her new album, Paloma has been understandably reluctant to overshare on the details of the split. She explained that she's conscious that her children will be older one one day and could be affected by the headlines, which makes her extra conscious of what she tells the media. "It's a different feeling having kids and knowing they’ll read about it in ten years," she said. "I have to be respectful of that because when they’re older they might say, ‘F*** you’.”
As for her first marriage to Rian, Paloma has previously dismissed it as "a bit of a joke" when she was "really young." The musician split from the New Zealand chef after eight months of marriage, after realizing she "did it in a rush" without enough thought.
'It's quite insignificant to me because I was really young. I did it in a rush and I took it all as a bit of a joke until I was in it, and then I realised it was serious and got out of it very quickly. I think it was frivolous.'
