Myleene Klass says she was once propositioned by Russell Brand and she is breaking her silence after the comedian was accused of sexual harassment, rape and coercive behaviour - allegations he has furiously denied.

The 45-year-old presenter and former singer shot to fame back in 2001 when she was a member of talent contest pop group Hear’Say - who were discovered via the ITV reality show Popstars. The star has opened up about a past encounter with 48-year-old Brand - who is battling allegations of sexual inappropriateness and rape following the release of a Channel 4 Dispatches documentary and investigations by The Times and Sunday Times.

Myleene - who has reinvented herself as a radio host, podcaster, and political activist in the years since her Hear’Say days - said she was propositioned by Brand when she was neither available nor interested. She also shared advice that others in a situation where they think something isn’t right, should run.

Opening up to Fabulous magazine, Myleene said she received “unwanted advances” from the embattled comedian. It is also reported the star “wasn’t single at the time and declined his offer.”

Myleene told the publication: “I can't say too much about it. But if you are uncomfortable and your instinct says no, get out of there.” The radio host is engaged to PR executive Simon Motson with whom she shares a son named Apollo who she welcomed in 2019.

The star has a 16-year-old daughter named Ava and a 12-year-old daughter named Hero who she shares with ex-husband Graham Quinn, who she was in a relationship with from 2000 until 2013.

Following the Dispatches and Times investigations involving Russell Brand, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed they are investigating claims the comedian sexually assaulted woman in the past.

Meanwhile, in a separate interview, Myleene hinted that she has a lot of dirt on a lot of other celebrities - and claims one of her old diaries has been locked away by a lawyer because the contents of it are so outrageous she would be sued if they made the light of day. She told the Independent: “I kept the Hear’Say diaries. They are actually under lock and key with a lawyer.

“I think they’re just too libellous. Honestly. I really don’t think I could! I think it’d just be a litigation nightmare. Everyone’s in there. I wrote about everything, everybody we met. And you have to remember, we met everybody.”

Brand shared a video statement denying 'criminal' and 'very serious' allegations and insisting all of his sexual relationships had been consensual. Speaking in a statement shared on social media, Mr Brand said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.

"But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream when I was in the newspapers all the time when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous.

"Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that. Then almost too transparent, and I'm being transparent about it now as well. And to see that transparency metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question, is there another agenda at play?"
